RealFit was recently approved for Oculus App Lab which is a place for early access content like RealFit that is in development before it’s ready for the official store.

The big benefit of App Lab is that it should make it much simpler for you to get updates for software and reduce the need for “side loading” packages and putting your Quest device into developer mode.

For everyone that has brought RealFit, if you go to your Itch.io download page for RealFit now then you should find a “Get Oculus key” button you can click to get yourself an App Lab key which can be redeemed here: https://secure.oculus.com/redeem-code/

Just in case you’ve lost your itch.io download link, here’s some info for finding it: https://itch.io/docs/buying/already-bought

After redeeming the code you should find that RealFit will update on your Quest and will move out of the “Unknown Sources” section in your “Apps” library. All your workout data and stats should carry over seamlessly (nothing is really moving - it’s just a change for how the RealFit package gets installed).

So from then on you should automatically receive updates for bug fixes or new features - yay!

What if you don’t see the button?

If you find that you don’t see a “Get Oculus keys” button that’s probably because I shared a “download key” with you (perhaps as a cross buy if you brought RealFit on Steam) and I need to pass on App Lab keys manually to everyone with download keys. Hopefully I’ll be able to contact everyone I’ve given these keys to but also please feel free to prod me (@rib) on the realfit.chat Discord server in case I haven’t been able to reach you, so I can give you your App Lab key.
